BrightXpress is a flexible mobile data gateway designed to
handle business mobility requirements. BrightXpress enables
BrightForms powered mobile devices to connect with
server-side data sources including powerful relational
databases or files based data sources at the backend.
The following document is an introduction to the
BrightXpress Mobility Suite, and explains the core concepts
of project design and runtime states, and their relation to
application development in the suite. It also contains a
summary of various project elements, with sufficient
information enabling readers to recognise key processes and
procedures using the suite. It is advised to consult the
Bright Mobility Suite User Manual for more detailed
information on any of the topics covered in the guide.
This is a walk-through taking you from initially running the
downloaded installation file, through the BrightBuilder and
BrightForms installation, as well as the automatic
installation of BrightForms to the connected handheld
device. You will also see how to start up a simple project
for the first time, and run it on both the BrightBuilder
machine and on the PDA.
An introduction to the BrightBuilder mobile application
development environment from Bright Software. Especially
designed as a first-look for new users to familiarise
themselves with the user interface and the various project
elements for designing mobile applications on BrightForms
and configuring BrightServer.
